About Us
We have been fashioning customized pieces for our clients in our workshop in Dresden since 1995. Using the photos provided by our customers, we craft individual portrait engravings on glass, creating exclusive gifts for all occasions as well as glassware for clients in the food-service branch and for various firm-sponsored events.

The high art of portrait engraving is performed by hand by select artists for whom we have provided training specific to this art. Our artists have their own signature and bring their personal style to the piece, making each engraving incomparably unique.

Although the main body of our daily work is composed of portrait engraving, we also engrave hand-drawn customer requests, coats-of-arms, company logos, pets and animals, landscapes, architectural portraits and much more.

We insist upon a high standard of quality regarding all aspects and elements of our work, from the wooden crates we ship our glasses in to the glasses we engrave – glass exclusively hand blown for our use by select glass-makers. Even our delivery service must daily maintain the bar of our standards.

No work that we are not satisfied with ourselves leaves our workshop.

How a portrait glass in made
Once the artist has received the photo upon which the
work will be patterned, the portrait is drawn on the glass.
Here, particular attention is devoted to proportional
distribution and characteristic features of the subject.
In the next step, the artist begins the engraving. As learned
in the training specific to this art form and through the
experience gained in completing many works, a variety of
diamond engraving tips and various rotation speeds will be used.
With an eye for detail and a steady hand, the smallest
details are transferred, one by one, onto the glass.
The artist will frequently change tips and adjust
the engraving tool throughout this process.
In a further important step, the engraving is polished.
This process creates shadowing which is essential
to the artistic representation.
Switching back and forth between polishing and
engraving, the picture is conveyed into the glass
by the artist layer by layer until the desired quality
is reached and the portrait is pronounced finished.
At the end of this impressive display of artistry, the finished product is ready.
However, before it is delivered worldwide, each piece of work is registered
and documented. Among other things, this documentation will be used in
presenting the work in our gallery, which is continually modified.
